MY DEDICATION TO
MY LIFE IN THE SIXTH-FORM
OF HECKMONDWIKE GRAMMAR SCHOOL

A LOT OF WORK
This is here simply because it took up so much time and effort during A-Level Music Technology that I thought I would force it upon you. Excuse it's robotic-ness, it was played from music by a computer (and computers aren't very good at being human) but you get the general idea. Overall, it took around a year off-and-on to compose, and originally it was four separate pieces all consisting of around two minutes each. So there you go.

DEATH TO THY DADDY
When we were given our 'Arrangement' paper for A-Level Music Technology, you had three different pieces of music to choose from - a boring piece which I can't remember the name of, 'It Don't Mean a Thing' and 'Dance to thy Daddy'.

Somebody dared me to create a death-metal version of this song - and so I did. I didn't spend too much time on it, and I never plucked up the courage to hand it in.

EVERYBODDY'S BUSINESS
Once I had gained a reputation for creating 'character pop-songs' it was inevitable that Mr Boddy, one of my A-Level Business Studies teachers was going to experience the honour of having his voice and favourite catch-phrases sampled, forming the basis of a new hit.

Mr Boddy's keenness for parties with lashings of lemonade and ice-cream inspired me when producing this track, and he was very co-operative during the recording as he decided to position himself directly above the microphone, making his voice crystal clear and very comprehensible (although, isn't it always?)

When hearing this for the first time (after the rest of my business studies group 'grassed me up') his response was "God, do I really sound that bad?" and "Oh It's quite good isn't it!?" Thanks for being such a good sport, Mr Boddy!

ONE CURVE
This never really matched 'Everyboddy's Business' - probably because the samples aren't as good (as I said previously, Mr Boddy decided to position himself directly over the microphone - Miss Jennings did not). But, I still created it so as Miss Jennings would not feel left out. She said that she doesn't want one created after hearing Mr Boddy's - but she also said 'It better be good'. Thank-you also for being such a good sport!

ALL I'M LOOKING FOR (The original)
Well, this was never released on the CD, mainly due to the fact that SOME people considered it to be rude. I can't think why, Miss Jennings was only demanding ONE CURVE - what else could it it be?

THE MR. COLE SONG
This is the most recent one that I did - and I did it because my Music Technology teacher decided that he felt 'left-out' because I had not created a track with samples obtained from one of his lessons. So I found some on a minidisc from an old recording session and made this.

I was originally just going to give him a copy and then leave it - but when I did he said to me "I'm sure sure whether I want to play it to anyone else". Sorry, but if you wanted it made Mr Cole, you're gonna get it played!
